SCRHL ROSTER ADDITIONS, SPARE PLAYER,
AND PLAYOFF ELIGIBILITY RULES
ROSTERS:
Updates to team rosters (ie: additions, deletions, changes) will be done twice per week on TUESDAY and SATURDAY between 12 NOON and 1 PM until July 9th, 2022 (inclusive). After July 9th, 2022, no changes will be permitted in advance of the July and August 2022 playoffs. Captains of teams are expected to advise SCRHL Administration via E-MAIL (not TEXT) to southcalgaryrechockey@shaw.ca of any changes to the roster prior to or on TUESDAY and/or SATURDAY for the players to be legally used for games scheduled thereafter. Any players used at a game without notification given will result in a 6-0 default loss for the team who contacted them to play.
Maximum roster size for team-registered teams: 28 players (full-time, casual, and part-time)
Maximum roster size for drafted teams: 15-16 players
New players to a roster (skater and goalie) must also complete the SCRHL WAIVER at the following link:
SPARES:
1) Updates to the SCRHL SPARE LIST (both GOALIE & SKATER) are done once per week between 12 NOON and 1 PM every SATURDAY until July 9th, 2022 (inclusive). After July 9th, 2022, no additional players will be added in advance of the July and August 2022 playoffs.
2) Only TEAM CAPTAINS receive the SCRHL SPARE LIST and they are point of contact for their team's spare player requirements and communication with SCRHL Administration.
3) All spare players must complete the online waiver at https://scrhlstore.ca/products/player-waiver at least 12 hours prior to participating.
4) Only spares from this latest version should
be used OR your team will risk receiving a default loss of 6-0 if illegal players participate regardless of a game outcome.
5) The spare lists can be used for both morning AND evening divisions. That being said (and based on each player past registration), I have
indicated if players are interested in only morning, both morning and evening, or only evening games. The time-of-day indication is
only to be used a guideline and to help speed up the process of procuring spare players. However, please feel free to call all goalies
/ skaters on it if you are desperate.
6) Please only use the names listed on this spare player list. As the team captain and co-captain, spares should only be contacted
through the captain or co-captain. The rest of your team should not be asking players to participate in a game spontaneously. Captains are the point of
contact.
7) Please remember to quickly brief any newer spare players prior to a game about Hockey Canada Rules and the SCRHL-specific
exceptions (no body-checking, no slapshots above the knee, no-touch icing from behind the blue line, and sportsmanship
ratings). This quick briefing is important to maintain sportsmanship within the league.
PLAYOFF ELIGIBILITY:
1) 3 games minimum for any skaters used from the SCRHL spare list OR recently-added / substituted players on the regular roster after May 6th, 2022. Any skaters (non-goalies) with (SP) beside their name require a minimum of 3 games played during the regular season to be eligible for the playoffs.
2) No minimum for skaters listed on team rosters up to and including May 6th, 2022 (they will not have (SP) beside their name).
3) Goalies from the latest SCRHL Spare List have no limitation and may be used even if they were not called during the regular season.
